Carnival starts cancelling next year’s cruises
The world’s major cruise company has begun cancelling following year’s trips in a new blow to an business devastated by the coronavirus pandemic.
Previous FTSE one hundred cruise operator Carnival blamed border constraints and the “continued uncertainty of airline travel” for axing Princess Cruises sailings in early 2021.
Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises president, said: “We share in the disappointment of this cancellation for attendees of our environment cruises.”
The cancellations abide by an announcement by Cunard, also owned by Carnival, that products and services will be suspended until eventually March following calendar year.
All sailings have been cancelled for Queen Elizabeth until eventually Mar twenty five, Queen Mary two until eventually Apr eighteen, and Queen Victoria until eventually May possibly sixteen, Cunard said.
Shares in Carnival, also listed on the New York inventory exchange, have plunged about fears that the Miami-headquartered company faces a very long highway to recovery in the wake of the pandemic.
