Mills have signed contracts to export 7 mt of sugar: Centre
Against the export concentrate on of six million tonnes (mt), sugar mills have entered into contracts for about seven mt in the present sugar period and over six mt of sugar have previously been exported, an formal assertion reported on Thursday.
“Some sugar mills have also signed forward contracts for exports in ensuing sugar period starting October. Export of sugar has helped in sustaining need-offer equilibrium and stabilising domestic ex-mill charges of sugar,” the assertion reported.
